It kind of surprises me that we are still not talking about some kind of artificial gravity in our space ships to avoid problems like these. I don’t know if it’s a scale or a design issue but it seems to me that without that we won’t go beyond Mars no matter what.
Unless Blade Runner does become true and we start getting replicants soon (according to the movie that should happen really soon since the action takes place in L.A. 2019! Also, this is another funny Japanese domination scenario by the way – Cops do origami and the huge billboards show a gueisha selling some pill!)
But then again, Pan Am seems to exist in that future so I am not very optimistic…
Talking about space, I recently watch a not very publicized movie called Moon. It is very good, I highly recommend it.
Now, check out these space colonies designed during the 1970’s for NASA. Awesome! No wonder that we were making movies that had us all over the universe in 2019. Who wouldn’t like to live in those!
Or it could be just all the LSD and heroin from the 60’s still making us kind of loony. Oh well.
Finally, a new study shows that marriage (actually, any long term relationship) helps reducing stress. I think this is pretty obvious but it is good news to have this out there anyway.
And I bet there are many more biological reasons behind our drive to keep only one partner for long periods. So even when our popular culture tries to tell us being a whore is so much fun, people instinctively understand that being married is much better.
