Isn’t funny how certain arguments are only used to justify a certain set of things?
For instance: After Tiger Woods was caught cheating, I saw a deluge of articles and discussions that sound something like this: “Are men wired to cheat ?”
First of all, let me digress and ask: Why in the world do I care if Tiger Woods cheated on his wife? Really. Is he my friend? Part of my family? Who in their right mind thinks that a GOLF PLAYER is a role model to anything? This is truly insane.
Ok, back to my previous point. Since when using our supposedly animal instincts is an excuse to anything? Do we do this for stealing? Cannibalism? Rape? I can guarantee that human males are biologically wired for raping, and there is a great evolutionary excuse for it too! Still, it is something unacceptable and nobody makes this argument to justify anything. Just because we defined that one behavior is illegal and the other isn’t doesn’t change a thing.
It is completely obvious that these articles are aimed at weakening marriage. If we are all stupid monkey who cannot keep it in our pants no matter what, why go through the charade right?
I just wish people were more honest on their goals. You think marriage is BS? Say it so. Don’t keep bringing stupid celebrities and crazy psychologists to rationalize your opinion.
