So I was watching this video that shows the famous Lawrence Lessig ‘scaring a room of liberals’ and it made me think: Is it really possible that lefties know so very little about conservatives to be surprised by all of this?
The part about ‘conservatives do things for other people for free’ was really out of this world. Do lefties even understand what ‘being part of a church’ is really about? Do they think that it is all about chanting anti-abortion songs and calling Obama a muslin? Don’t they even understand why conservatives are against government welfare at all?
Is the concept of freedom in this case (to help who you want and the way you want it) that scary and misterious to our friends on the left?
Yesterday I also watched Ben Stein’s Expelled which is very interesting even though the movie is quite confusing and mixes up a bunch of things that I don’t necessarily agree with. But the reason the point above reminded me of the movie is that Ben Stein also talks about how intelligent design is being banned from Universities and it is actually destroying the career of many professors who wanted to at least try to understand if the theory is valid or not.
How can that be? Isn’t science about looking at all alternatives and trying to at least show your options?

So it is ok to believe that aliens(!) created us but it is completely stupid to believe that ‘God’ created us… By the way, WHO CREATED THE ALIENS? And this is the super-guru guy that leads the left against all the conservative hocus-pocus of religion!
The fact that people simply accept our current theories and don’t even acknowledge this huge gap in it is in my opinion almost like a psychological disorder. It is trying to scope down your problem to fit your favorite answer. And that is it, we shouldn’t even allow people to talk about this!

It used to be that Americans defined themselves by this very brief set of principles. Those are (were?) the pillars in which this country and most of its laws were created on top of.
What does the left think of this? Are we getting to a point where we have not only a ‘living and breathing constitution’ but also a completely new set of principles?
Do these people get freedom at all?
