This reminds me of a prediction I made to a friend: I think that vegetarianism will become the next “fashionable” trend in health care. Especially now with the government getting in the middle, I expect a bigger push for media content on the benefits of alternative diets. I also think that as these become more mainstream, more variations will appear. I am a ‘mostly vegetarian’ guy (eat fish now and then) and I think this is a great compromise. For whatever reason, fish meat doesn’t have the same negative effect that red meat does to my body. My wife recently became a ‘mostly vegan’ (dropping most dairy products) and she noticed a big positive change. I believe there is a variety of ‘low level allergies’ associated with some types of food that people just don’t think about. Making these non-traditional changes can have a very large impact on people’s health and weight.
