I just can’t let pass without comment the fact that Obama chose Dr. Francis Collins as the new director of the National Institutes of Health.
Besides being a brilliant scientist (he lead the Genome Project), Dr. Collins is also the author of the 2007 best-selling book, “The Language of God: A Scientist Presents Evidence for Belief.” That is by far the best book I’ve ever read about religion, a must for anyone who struggles with the love of science and the search of spirituality.
The reason Obama deserves kudos here is that the left pretty much hates Collins. You can read Sam Harris’ Ed-Op to get the idea.
All things considered, even Obama can still make a good choice. Which in the end, might prove to be more of a problem than an advantage… but I digress, that is just crazy lefty politicking. Obama did well here, and he deserves the credit.
