My window to the world
Yes, we are still having Christmas. Same as most Americans, of course.
There is one thing though which I’ve been thinking about these last few days. If some time from now the numbers on shopping come out and say that it was down X% and everything is lost, it means that things were just really out of control. Everywhere I went I faced 45 min lines and stores were packed. Shopping is great and we should not tell people not to shop. But at some point we should understand that times like Christmas are about much more.
This is more than just a silver lining to this current crisis, it is actually an opportunity. Americans have become just too spoiled. We should stop and reflect more on how fortunate and blessed we are in living in such a free and prosperous country, regardless of being able to spend two thousand or two hundred in silly gifts.
Merry Christmas everybody!
