Look at the candidates for both parties. What is the biggest difference between them?
Plurality. I mean real plurality.
Among the Republican candidates you can find someone who goes against the so called “consensus” in almost every issue. Ron Paul is against the war. Giuliani is not a pro-lifer. Huckabee is somewhat of a protectionist. McCain and Giuliani are in favor of Democratic-like immigration solutions while Romney, Thompson and Huckabee are very stringent. Romney and Huckabee are in favor or versions of universal care while the others are not. The list goes on and on.
Ask a liberal friend which Republican represents the “establishment” and you will get a different response everytime.
Now what is the real difference between the Democrats? Obama is probably a bit to the left of Hillary. That’s it! That is why there is so much blablabla about the fact that he is black and she is a woman. It’s their main difference!
Look at what the Democrats did to Lieberman. They forced him out!
Now it is also true that the extreme loony left has also lost ground within the Democrats (Kucinich is considered a joke by everyone) but the point is that there are no alternatives in the blue party.
So who is the real open minded party here, uh?
