My friend
it seems you got hurt in past when you used to live in Brazil, and you still suffer with it. That’s the only way I can understand such comments you made about Brazil. Anyway, I don’t know you and your background, it was just the impression that I got from your sad words.

But let me tell you one thing, you better don’t return ever! not even for visiting!!! Brazilians like you are not necessary there. We need people intelligent like you, intellectual like you, but with positivism, creativity, and power of change to see opportunities in this rich and diverse cultural country, and improve its economy, in another words make it move forward, and be better than just being an outside observer.

Please, do us a favor! Never go back to Brazil! Keep it cool here in US.

Good bless you and Brazil!

Heloisa

Me

Heloisa,
You are totally right, my life in Brazil was awful. You can search some of the older posts I wrote and read about it.

You are also right in getting mad that I left the country instead of staying and trying to make it better. After all, you live there and that would work to your benefit.

Personally, I didn’t want to spend the rest of my life trying to fix something that many people doesn’t even recognize as broken. My issues with Brazil and Brazilians go beyond the economy, lack of education, etc. I don’t like the culture (especially the attitude towards work and wealth), I don’t like the climate that much, and clearly I was politically isolated. So I had the chance to move and I took it. I can tell you it was the best thing it could have happened to me. Hard, but very rewarding.

As far as returning, you shouldn’t worry about it.
